The Great Yorkshire Show

The Great Yorkshire Show is an annual event that spans over three days and is full of all things, well, Yorkshire. Most of it is farming but there are also lots of stalls and fancy cars that I don't know the names of.

I went with my mum, my mum's friend and my boyfriend on the Wednesday of the show.

At first we watched some of the heats of the sheep shearing competition. It amazes me how those people can hold the sheep still, never mind have to shear it that quickly.
Axel and I then walked around and looked at all of the farm animals. We stroked an awful lot of sheep and I could push my hand into their wool so much that my hand could almost disappear. SO FLUFFY.

To be very honest, Axel and I spent most of our time walking around the stalls. The first stall we properly stopped at was a stall with a hedgehog! All money from donations or items bought goes towards helping their hedgehogs. So, I bought a small book of stories about the hedgehogs that they take in there. All the stories are written from the hedgehog's point of view.

Another thing we did at the show was go on a Lewis Hamilton race car driving simulation. Axel really enjoyed it because he doesn't like rollercoasters but I sort of hated it because it made me feel really sick.

One of my favourite parts of the day was buying some frozen yoghurt. But not the normal fake tasting kind, really nice frozen natural yoghurt blended with raspberries.... yummy.

At The Great Yorkshire Show, I don't tend to watch many of the animal shows. But, this year one of the shows was guys free styling on motorbikes. It was amazing to watch. I can't imagine how people do that, it looked terrifying!

And finally, for the best part. What Axel and I bought from the stalls! Some of it I cannot show you because Axel bought a lot of presents but I can show you what I bought at least.

The first items I bought are from a stall I bought from at the same place two years ago. These are soap filled sponges. They smell amazing and last months longer than a bottle of shower gel. I bought three for £6 but only two are pictured here because I am currently using the lime one! My favourite is the tropical one (the orange one in the picture) and it is the same scent as I bought from the stall two years ago. Their website is www.pureindulgencesoaps.co.uk

I bought two necklaces. But, if you want to see those, you'll have to come back and check my blog later to see a whole post dedicated to those.
Hint: I bought from their stall two years ago also, so if you look through my old blog posts, you might be able to guess what they're like!

I bought a cute little sign to put on my door when I go back to university.

And, from the same stall Axel bought me this.

Axel bought something Harry Potter themed for himself also.. But, again, you'll have to check back later for a post on that. (I like suspense).

And, finally, my most last minute purchase. I bought a super cute pink bag.

I absolutely loved attending The Great Yorkshire Show this year. I hope to go again next year.

Oh, and I also caught two Pokemon.
