From the title of this post you may be thinking "whoa there Alex, calm down" calling something THE BEST HIGHLIGHTER is quite a big claim to make. Well, although I haven't tried every highlighter in the world, I can strongly say this is by far the best I have tried.. by a landslide. Oh, and the best part? It's a UK drugstore brand and you can pick it up in Superdrug for £3.
I've never been good at highlighting. That's not me being modest, I've just been genuinely pants at it. I've tried so many brands and quite frankly they all looked on the lesser side of mediocre.
One day I was in Superdrug looking for an eyeshadow palette that I'd seen my friend Claire wearing. And, whilst at the makeup revolution counter, I saw the most beautiful purpley coloured highlighter. The Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in the shade Pink Lights I picked it up as it was only £3 and didn't think much of it.. again, as it was only £3.
I took it home and put it on, finding it so so easy to apply (I apply it with a real techniques contour brush because that's what I find easiest). Straight away after applying I noticed that this highlighter was by far the best highlighter I have ever used, knocking all the higher end brands that I've tried out of the water.
It is a super pigmented highlighter as can be seen in my swatch below. However, if you prefer a more subtle highlight it is very easily blended to get that subtle glow, providing you apply it lightly.
Also, when I went out and about, I've had so so many compliments on my highlight and asking what product I use. I mean, I've had compliments on my makeup before but never on my highlight so I know this one is a keeper.
And, a little goes a long long way with this product. So I know that the £3 I nonchalantly spent that Saturday is going to last me years and years. Maybe even till I am an old grandma.
