The second day in Canterbury was a much more chilled out one. If you haven't read about our first day, you can give that a read here. To begin the day, we decided to walk back to the car to drop off our overnight bags so that we could have a weightless stroll through Canterbury for the rest of the day. It was an active start to the morning but considering my lack of an exercise routine, it was probably quite needed.
For lunch, my boyfriend had made us a reservation at a sourdough pizza restaurant. I have a yeast intolerance so sourdough pizza is the way to go for me (and sourdough bread in general). Before our reservation we ended up going back to Siesta from the day before to pick up some things we missed! My boyfriend bought a wooden handmade wind chime with a dragon on top (I don't actually have a photo of it right now but trust me, it is cool) and I purchased a small green wooden elephant and the earrings I am wearing in all the pictures of this post. They are little clay ladies and I love them!
We still had a bit of time to kill before the lunch reservation so we went to an oriental supermarket to stock up on noodles and mochi. The supermarket was called 'Thais R us' which I found very entertaining. Then we made our way to the pizza restaurant which is called Chapter. The pizza was delicious! As always, I ordered the vegetarian option and as always.. I took some home with me because cold pizza the day after is always the best (don't judge me).
We then discovered there was a little food festival in a park nearby. So, after having churros the day before in Cafe Des Amis, I was craving them again! The girls working on the churros stand seemed very busy with orders but they managed great and made us some tasties! I opted for nutella as the dipping sauce for these ones as I am not sure I have ever had churros with nutella before. It was the best choice and they gave us the exact perfect amount for the number of churros we had (although I may have consumed slightly more than my boyfriend..... oops).
I also ended up buying some fudge from The Fudge Kitchen. I am from a village near York and I used to really love getting the sea salt and dark chocolate fudge slab from The Fudge Kitchen shop in York so I bought some on this day to reminisce. I am not doing a very good job at getting through it as I still have some left but I am enjoying it slowly but surely.
Afterwards, we sat by the canal and watched the world go by (as pictured in the very top photo). Thank-you for reading about my Canterbury adventure! Our next trip away is to Bristol with my boyfriend's family. As this is a family trip, I won't be blogging about it. But, expect a different kind of blog post coming from me soon!
Peace x
