Readathons aren't for me... + ANNOUNCEMENT

In my previous post announcing my participation in the Ho Ho Ho Readathon, I mentioned how I hadn't participated in a readathon in quite a long while.... and now I know why.

I can't do readathons.

Readathons just aren't for me. In total for this readathon I read 7 pages. I know a lot of people are reading upwards of 7 books for this readathon... and I read 7 pages. The pressure of a readathon and knowing I should be spending all of my spare minutes reading makes me feel incredibly anxious. The aim of a readathon is to read as much as you are able and to have fun whilst doing it but my anxiety (I am an incredibly anxious person in general) takes the fun out of readathons for me. So, from now on, for my mental health, I pledge to not participate in a readathon again unless I feel like I really need to or want to.

HOWEVER

This blog post isn't totally depressing as I do have a pretty cool announcement.

My friends and I are going to be making our own book club: The Three Hallows Book Club.

Each month we will be reading a Young Adult book (announced in advance) and each be posting about it on our blogs... There may even be the odd YouTube video thrown in if you're suuuuper lucky.
