Winged liner is easily one of the hardest tricks of the trade when it comes to makeup. Even ask renowned beauty blogger ViviannaDoesMakeup!
With new pricey products being launched such as the Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner we soon find ourselves living off beans for the next few weeks when we really can get the same wing from an eyeliner costing us less than £5.
Ignore my hairy arms.. some of us like to stay warm in the winter.
1. Collection Fast Stroke Eye Liner rrp £2.99
In my personal opinion, Collection eyeliners are the best drugstore liquid liners that you can buy. The fast stroke liner lasts all day without smudging and is good for creating an intense black line. When I first bought this it took me a little bit of practice to get used to the applicator but within a week it easily became my all time favourite liquid liner. So, be patient with it! You can buy it in blue, black or brown and there is also a waterproof formula available.
2. Collection Extreme 24Hr Felt Tip Liner rrp £2.99
This liner is easier to achieve a spot on cat flick with straight away without much practice at all compared to most other eye liners. However, with the good comes the bad and this eye liner is a lot more easy to smudge if you are wiping your eyes. But, for the price, I'm pretty sure that we can live with that!
3. elf Cream Eyeliner rrp £3.95
As the formula is gel-like as opposed to liquid, the shades do not have quite the same intensity but oh wow does this go on smoothly. The eyeliner comes with an eyeliner brush that is absolutely perfect for both makeup newbs and makeup experts. Not much practice is needed to get your wings spot on with this just make sure not to go too heavy with the amount you put on your brush (a mistake you only make once)!
4. SEVENTEEN semi permanent liquid eyeliner Tattoo Me rrp £4.99
This is quite possibly one of the best eyeliners I have ever tried. The brush allows pixel point smooth lines and lasts sooo long. In fact, it lasts a bit tooooo long. Sure, everybody wants the eyeliner that lasts them 48hours but when its a week after you applied it and it's half there and half not.. it's not a good look. You need oil based eye makeup removers to remove it and quite a bit of scrubbing (which I do not recommend you do, your eyes are sensitive!) Other SEVENTEEN eyeliners, however, don't have quite the same black ferocity.
5. Barry M Wink Marker Pen Eyeliner rrp £4.59
Many people new to the winged eyeliner scene often sing the praises of this felt pen eyeliner. As it is a chunky pen, it is much easier to hold and control. My only problem with this is that the "nib" or whatever you want to call it is very very thick so it is definitely not for those going for the delicate feline look!
