SEVENTEEN ON THE SPOT FOUNDATION | first impressions & review

Like the majority of the teenage population, I am prone to the occasional hormonal breakout. However, recently I have noticed this being more of a problem than usual. So, whilst at home I've been wearing zero foundation in the hope that this will improve the appearance of my skin but I also wanted to find a foundation that would help my skin breakout less so that I was still able to wear foundation when I left the house.

Thanks to the lovely Emma Blackery I was recommended the SEVENTEEN ON THE SPOT FOUNDATION available at Boots for the rrp of £6.99 for 30ml.

I purchased it in the shade soft ivory as I am as pale as pale can be!
The foundation contains the ingredient Salicylic acid. This ingredient causes the upper epidermis of the skin to come away easier, causing the pores to be opened. Then, the antibacterial in the foundation acts to neutralise any spot causing bacteria within the pores.

The first impression I got from the packaging is that it was a squeezy tube thingmajiggy. I believe that's the technical term. However, it turns out it's actually a pump which pleases me rather muchly as it means I don't end up pouring too much out all over my hand and doing the usual scrambling for a tissue whilst not dripping it all over the carpet (usually unsuccessfully).

I apply this foundation using the Estee Lauder Foundation Brush 1 because I feel like this gives the best buildable coverage. When first applying the foundation it seems very thick but once you start to build it up to a fuller coverage, it gets easier. It claims to have spf 15 and full coverage. However, I would say it was more of a medium coverage foundation rather than a high coverage foundation. Below is a picture of me wearing it (please note: I am wearing the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in the shade Ivory underneath my eyes as I forgot to take the photo before I did that).

When buying the foundation, I would also note that the shades are slightly orangier in comparison to other drugstore foundations.

If you have very dry skin, I would not recommend this foundation. The formula is thicker than most liquid foundations. I have fairly dry skin and when my skin has drier days, I find the formula very hard to blend and buff into the skin.

I have noticed that when wearing the foundation for a week, my spots have calmed down. However the foundation recommends 4 weeks of use before you achieve clearer skin.

Overall I would give this foundation a rating of 2/5 stars.
