I didn't do one of these for the July/August Glossybox because I went away with NCS 2 days after it arrived.. (to read about week 1 of my NCS experience then click here and to read about week 2 then click here).
Anyway yeah, the postman delivery guy came this morning with my September/October box and here it is :)
This time it came in a yellow bag.. Not my favourite shade of yellow in the world (its a bit of a mouldy butter colour) but these bags are really useful to put things in on like weekends away and sleepovers and just general storage.
The first thing I came across in the bag is the card that comes with every bag to explain what the bag is about. "Say hello to your Autumn Miss Glossybox, filled with our favourite beauty trends to try this season." and then I didn't read any more of it because I didn't want anything to be given away. This card is a lot prettier than the other cards because it is Autumn themed with leaves around the edge :3
Now for the products :)
1) Katy Perry Killer Queen perfume sample
The full size is 50ml for £29.50 which makes this sample worth about £0.89
I love getting perfume samples in beauty boxes and I don't really know why.. I know that most people hate them because you can easily get them from a makeup counter for free but to be honest I'd never do that. I haven't really been looking for a new perfume because I have an absolute tonne! And even when I've used up all that I have I plan on getting the Beyonce Midnight Heat one (because I smelled that from the last miss glossybox and I loved it). In all honesty, I don't like this Katy Perry perfume.. Like, once its on you and its sat there for an hour then it smells nice but perfume is something I put on just before I go out and I don't really want to have to wait for it to smell good. It is also a lot like the JLS LOVE perfume which is a lot cheaper so I'm not sure this perfume is worth the price. I will take this perfume sample when I go on sleepovers and things though because it has a spray bottle rather than just a dabby one. But what really annoys me about this bottle is that its too small for the card so it keeps falling out >:(
2) JvG Soft Touch Eyeliner 10 Waterproof - Full size
This is 1.2g which is a full size and is worth £6.95.
I do already have an awful lot of black eyeliners so when I first saw this I was a bit like "okay meh I'll get round to using you in a couple of years maybe" but then I tried it before I went out to Xscape to pick up my box of OMG (click here to open my box of OMG #3 review in a new window) and it is actually so so so good! I wouldn't reccomend it for the waterline because it doesn't go on very well but it glides so well on to the top of your eyelid (which also makes it easier to do a cateye flick thing) and it lasts really really well because it's waterproof.
3) Skinetica Anti-Blemish Gel sample
The full size is 80ml and worth £6.99. I'm not sure how much is in this sample because it doesn't say but I'm going to guess it's worth about £3.
I will use this because like most people my age I do get spots but I can't really say anything about it yet because I'll need to try it for a few days before I can comment about it. But yes, I'm pleased with recieving it :)
4) NYC In a NY Color Minute - 244 Times Square - Full Size
This is a full size and it is worth £1.79.
When I last had an NYC nail polish it chipped way too easily so I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to using this or not. The colour is really really pretty because it's like a cherry reddy pinky colour. I don't own a colour like this so I'll try it out but at the moment I'm not sure about it.
5) NYC Show Time Nail Art - 002 Silverism
This isn't on the card so I don't know how much it is or if it is a full size or anything because I've just been trying to find it on the internet for a good ten minutes and I can't find it there either... Maybe I don't actually have this and I'm just imagining it...
Anyway, I love this colour, I think it will go great on top of the NYC nail polish. Really really excited to try this! Please comment or tweet me (@alex_thecoolest) if you know how much this is/if it is a full size!!
6) Beauty UK posh pout moisturising twist-up tinted lip balm - corally incorrect
I'm pretty certain this is a full size and it is worth £2.99.
I've been wanting to try something like this for ages because I saw Zoella and Tanya Burr raving about the Bourjois versions of these. Althought Beauty UK is a cheaper brand I'm still really pleased with this because it means I can see if I like them before I spend a little more on a Bourjois one. I put this on before I went out, admittedly it is a little bright for my liking but when I smudge my lips together it goes to a perfect shade :) It is really really moisturising because usually I would have had to apply my regular lip balm about seven times today already but since I've put this on I haven't needed to. It is pretty long lasting but it does fade. I'm pretty curious as to if people got these in different shades so if you got a Glossybox then please can you comment/tweet me what shade you got?
7) Compact mirror
This is just a little free extra that the Glossybox team threw in to advertise the new album called English Rain by Gabrielle Aplin. On the back of it there is a link to where you can listen to the album which I was going to link for you but it doesn't actually work.. Slightly disappointing.
It's not actually a bad compact.. It's pretty hard to open but it's not rubbish quality that I'd expect from something like this :)
Overall I would say this has been my favourite Miss Glossybox so far! I will eventually use all of these products whereas in the other boxes there has been at least 1 product which I will never/rarely use! The total price worth for this box is £16.62 (including approximations for the NYC nail art and the anti blemish gel) which is way worth the price of the box which is £9.95 (including p&p).
I hope you enjoyed reading this and you found it of some use to you!
