I never usually blog about the books I buy but the lovely Eleanor Coales from Green and Aquamarine has inspired me to do so!
Usually, I like to buy from independent book shops as it breaks my heart that they are rapidly decreasing in number. However, none of the books in The Little Apple Bookshop appealed to me very much so I made the venture to Waterstones instead.
The first book that I picked up was The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon.
I picked up this book based on a recommendation by Flabulous to Abulous. In all honesty, I do not know much about it but I have heard it mentioned by a countless number of booktubers so I am very intrigued to know what the hype is about. I've heard it is scary though so maybe I'll have to wait until the boyfriend is round before I'm brave enough to read it!
The second book I picked up is We Were Liars by e. Lockhart as it was a part of the buy one get one half price offer. I am a sucker for an offer.
I first heard about this book from essiebutton and booksandquills but then I started to hear more and more people talk about it. The description of the book doesn't give too much away and I've also heard that it's best to go into this book not knowing much about it and expecting it to be perfectly average and nothing out of the ordinary. So, naturally, I am very curious. Maybe I'll post a review about it once I've read it :)
The final book I picked up is a prequel to the Divergent series.
I am currently reading Insurgent and I am growing very strongly attached to the characters (even though I am beginning to get frustrated by each and every single one). Four is also one of my favourite characters because he just seems to be so openly mysterious. So, even if I do get tired of the series by the time I've finished Allegiant, I imagine I'll still be intrigued enough to read more about Four's past.
After picking up the chosen ones, I went to the till to pay. Usually the tills as Waterstones are pretty standard but this time they had an amazing selection of badges. I couldn't leave them behind so I decided to buy one. I was going to buy a really pretty Romeo & Juliet one but then I saw this..
I feel like this badge was made for me. I WAS DESTINED TO OWN THIS BADGE.
